I ventured out with my kids and a friend to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Chicago's Chinatown neighborhood. The day was a festive splash of color combined with the beautiful chaos of many people gathered together on a rather chilly start to February here. The start of the lunar New Year was January 31st and 2014 is the year of the horse. The brilliant reds against the color and character of Chinatown made this event a must see.
These images showcase just a small part of what makes Chicago such an amazing cultural city. Happy 2014!!
