It is always an honor to partner with great organizations doing good work! On Friday I was invited to capture a special event for The Student Conservation Association. The SCA is a non for profit organization that strives to build the next generation of conservation leadership through programs that employ, educate, and and empower young people to care for the environment. The Midwest region focuses on hands on service in and around Chicago. Many crews from around Chicago came together at the Sagawau Environmental Center. Olympic gold medalist Shani Davis shared parts of his story of growing up in Chicago and fighting through a lot to pursue his dream of being a professional speed skater. The students had a lot of questions and my favorite part was watching them meet him after- you would be correct to assume there were copious amounts of ogling the gold medal and snapping selfies. The morning ended with the student enjoying a canoe ride in the forest preserve. An inspiring and beautiful morning! Here are a few of my favorite images of the day.
